About TechTutelage
TechTutelage is a library of quick, no-fluff tech tutorials. Every guide is built to get you from “how do I do this?” to a working result as fast as possible: the exact commands, what you should see, and nothing you don’t need.
I started TechTutelage on YouTube and have been publishing written guides here since 2022. Most of them come from real problems I’ve had to solve on my own servers, so if something tripped me up, it’s in the tutorial.
What you’ll find here
- Linux & Command Line: the essential commands, grep, file paths and server tools
- SSH & Security: keys, passwords, MFA, recovering locked-out servers and SSL certificates
- Oracle Cloud: getting the most out of the Always Free tier
- VPN & Networking: running your own WireGuard VPN
- macOS: Terminal tips, Java, Homebrew and more
- Self-Hosting & Servers: Minecraft, Matrix, Docker and OpenStack
How the tutorials work
- Straight to the point. No long intros. Each step tells you what to run and why.
- Copy-paste ready. Click any command block to copy it in one go, then paste it into your terminal.
- Watch or read. Most guides come with a video walkthrough, so you can follow along whichever way you prefer.
Free tools I’ve built
When a task gets repetitive, I script it and share it on GitHub:
- wireguard-manager: set up a WireGuard VPN server and manage clients from a simple menu. Read the guide.
- minecraft-bedrock-tools: install a Minecraft Bedrock server on Ubuntu or Debian and keep it updated automatically. Read the guide.
- CertAvert: SSL certificate monitoring that warns you before a certificate expires or breaks. Why I built it.
